Who we are
This website is operated by Validatora Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17383976, whose registered office is at 55 Loudoun Road, London NW8 0DL. Validatora Ltd is the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
This policy explains what data this website collects, how it is used, where it is stored and what rights you have. It covers this website only.
In short
- This website collects the details you choose to send us through its forms.
- It uses privacy-friendly analytics to count visits. The analytics set no cookies and do not identify you.
- The details you send us are stored so that we can reply, keep a record of our contact with you and, from time to time, ask for your views.
- We do not sell your data.
Data you give us
We collect personal data only when you submit one of the forms on this website.
- Access request form: your name, work email address, fund or institution, role, and the coverage region you are most interested in.
- Contact form: your name, email address, fund or institution if you choose to give it, and the content of your message.
The sign-in form does not transmit or store what you type. Client accounts are not yet available through this website.
Data collected automatically
We use a privacy-friendly analytics service to understand how the website is used: how many people visit, which pages they read, which site referred them, the country they are in and the type of device and browser. This information is aggregated. It is not linked to your name or to anything you submit through a form.
The analytics service does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites. Your IP address is processed briefly to produce the aggregated statistics and is not stored in a form that identifies you.
We also record, in the same aggregated way, when certain actions are taken on the page, such as opening the access request form or submitting it. These counts do not include the details you entered.
As with any website, the providers that host this site and deliver its content receive your IP address and basic browser information when your browser requests the page.
Cookies
This website does not set cookies and does not store information in your browser. For that reason there is no cookie banner.
How we use your data
- To reply to your access request or enquiry.
- To decide whether and how to offer you access, and to arrange it.
- To keep a record of our correspondence with you.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the website is used and to improve it.
- To ask for your feedback, or to invite you to take part in our customer and market research.
- To tell you about our products and services where that is relevant to you.
Understanding what our readers and customers need is central to building a useful product. We may therefore use the details you have given us, including your name and contact details, to get in touch and ask what you think. Taking part is always optional, and you can ask us to stop contacting you at any time.
We do not sell or rent personal data, we do not pass it to advertisers, and we do not use it for automated decision-making.
Research you upload to Personal Rank
Personal Rank is private to you. If you use it, the research and other material you upload is stored and processed for one purpose only: to produce your own ranking and show it to you.
We do not use material you upload in any other Validatora product, we do not include it in any public ranking, and we do not make it available to other users. It is held for your use alone.
You are responsible for making sure that you are entitled to upload the material and to have it tracked and scored in this way, including under any licence or terms on which it was supplied to you.
Our legal basis
Consent. Where we ask for your agreement to a particular use of your data, we rely on that agreement, and you can withdraw it at any time.
Contract. We need to process some personal data in order to provide what you have asked us for. This applies when you ask for access, register for one of our services, subscribe to a newsletter, sign up for an event or buy a product from us. Where someone else is responsible for payment, it also covers that person’s details.
Legitimate interests. In other cases we process personal data because doing so serves a legitimate interest of ours that is also consistent with yours. This covers replying to enquiries, much of our research, customer feedback, sales and marketing activity, and the aggregated analytics described above. These activities help us understand what you need, which in turn lets us serve you better. We consider the basis for each use with care, and you can object to any of these activities at any time, as set out under “Your rights” below.
Where your data is stored and who receives it
We use third-party software and service providers that are designed to facilitate our service and our communication with you. They process data on our behalf and only for those purposes. They fall into these categories:
- form handling and email, which receive, store and deliver what you send us and our replies;
- hosting, database and storage, which run the website and the product and hold the data behind them;
- analytics, which produce the aggregated usage statistics described above;
- content delivery, which serves pages and typefaces to your browser.
Some of these providers store or process data outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States.
The providers we use may change over time. We do not share your personal data with anyone else, unless we are required to by law.
How long we keep it
We keep the details you submit for as long as we are in contact with you about access or about your enquiry, and for a reasonable period afterwards so that we have a record of that contact. After that we delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time.
Aggregated analytics do not identify you and are kept without a fixed limit.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate;
- ask us to delete it;
- ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our using it;
- ask for it in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at enquiries@validatora.com, use the contact form on this website, or write to us at our registered office, and say that your message concerns your personal data. We will respond within one month.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to deal with your concern first.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the website changes in a way that affects it, for example when client accounts become available. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed.
Questions about this policy can be sent to enquiries@validatora.com or through the contact form. See also our legal notice and disclaimer.
